Throughout the past year, OSOP have held various events raising money for a number of causes including the Children’s Hospital at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
- In March, a team of 7 medical students representing OSOP ran 5 miles at Blenheim Palace and raised a total of £517 for the Children’s hospital.
- In April, OSOP combined with Oxford Marrow to hold a very successful bake sale supporting Anthony Nolan, the UK’s blood cancer charity and bone marrow register.
- In May, the first annual “Easter Eggstravaganza” took place! This was an eggciting event raising money for the children’s hospital that featured egg painting, Easter cupcake decorating, an Easter egg coconut shy and lots and lots of chocolate!
- In August, OSOP and the Hugh Cairns Surgical Society held a BBQ at Osler House, to support the very worthwhile cause of Morgan’s sensory garden, an upcoming project at the Children’s Hospital, which aims to create a space that can be used by the paediatric patients during their stay to help them escape the hospital environment.
